The Greater Bay Area is a metropolitan area consisting of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou (Longmen not included), Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangman, Zhaoqing (city proper and Sihui) in Guanddong Province, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR. It is one the four Grand Bay Areas around world, taking its place among New York Bay Area, San Francisco Bay Area, and Tokyo Bay Area. It is an important platform for the nation’s world-class metropolitan construction, and participation in global competition.
